Wagner PEM C2, PEM C4 & PEM T3 Powder Guns: Legacy Guide and the PEM-X1 Upgrade

Wagner's PEM C2 and C4 corona guns and PEM T3 tribo gun served a generation of powder lines. Here's what they were, where to find manuals and parts, and how the PEM-X1 replaces them.

Before the X1 platform, Wagner's manual powder guns were the PEM C-series corona guns and the PEM T3 tribo gun. All three are out of the current lineup — the PEM-X1 is Wagner's manual powder gun today — but thousands remain in service, and CET continues to support them with manuals and spare parts.

The Legacy Lineup

The PEM C2 and PEM C4 were Wagner's workhorse manual corona guns, charging powder with a high-voltage electrode at the tip and pairing with Wagner's EPG control units. The PEM T3 was the tribo companion: it charges powder by friction inside the barrel rather than with an electric field, which lets powder reach into faraday-cage recesses that corona guns struggle with. Wagner sold the T3 alongside corona guns in two-coat kits like the Sprint X CT 3L — tribo for the first layer, corona for the second.

Manuals and Parts

The PEM C2 operating manual, the PEM C4/T3 manual, and the PEA C4 automatic manual are all free in the CET document library. For parts, the store's interactive PEM-X1 & T3 spare parts picker covers T3 wear items by exploded-diagram position, and C-series components — charger bodies, powder tubes, housings — are in the Wagner powder spare parts section.

Why the PEM-X1 Replaces All Three

The PEM-X1 brought the C-series' corona performance down to 490 grams with a stable 100 kV high-power cascade and up to 450 g/min output, and its nozzle ecosystem — flat, round with deflector cones, angled, cross, plus extensions to 750 mm — covers the application range the C2 and C4 served. For most former T3 faraday-cage work, the X1's deflector-cone round spray and the Digital Surface Optimizer on current SPRINT 2 systems close the gap; shops with hard tribo requirements should talk to us about current options. When a C-series or T3 gun finally wears out, the PEM-X1 is the drop-in path — call or text 586-210-0555 and we'll map your setup.
